Mel Rodriguez III
Mel Rodriguez III is an award-winning filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Texas, Rodriguez began working on independent films in Austin as a film editor until moving to Los Angeles. In 2009, Rodriguez capped a successful run as a film editor with the documentary WE LIVE IN PUBLIC, Winner of the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for documentary. Rodriguez moved to directing commercial content and founded FOREIGN + DOMESTIC Media, a digital agency/production company working with top agencies and global brands such as Toyota, Google, Wells Fargo, American Express and more. Rodriguez made his feature film directorial debut with the independent feature, IN STEREO starring Beau Garrett (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, Firefly Lane) and Mario Cantone (Sex And The City). In 2019, Rodriguez earned a coveted spot as a fellow with the Sony Diverse Director Program for episodic television directing. And in 2022, Rodriguez was invited to workshop his latest screenplay, the twisty crime thriller, INTERFERENCE, at the Sundance Institute Directing Lab. Rodriguez is prepping to direct INTERFERENCE as his second feature in Mexico City in 2025.
