Mel Rodriguez III
Mel Rodriguez III is an award-winning writer/director and producer based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Texas, Rodriguez began working on independent films in Austin as a film editor before moving to Los Angeles. In 2009, Rodriguez capped a successful run as a film editor of independent films with the acclaimed documentary WE LIVE IN PUBLIC, Winner of the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for Documentary. Rodriguez moved on to directing next, beginning with commercial content and he founded FOREIGN + DOMESTIC Media, a digital agency/production company working with top agencies and global brands such as Toyota, Google, Wells Fargo, American Express and more.
Rodriguez made his feature film directorial debut with the independent feature, IN STEREO, starring Beau Garrett (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce), Mario Cantone (Sex And The City) and Sean Cullen (Michael Clayton). In 2019, Rodriguez earned a coveted spot as a fellow with the Sony Diverse Director Program for episodic television directing. In 2022, Rodriguez served as a story producer on the Paramount+ docu-series, DE LA CALLE, produced by Emmy-award winning production company, ZERO POINT ZERO (Anthony Bourdain NO RESERVATIONS) and the same year, Rodriguez was invited to workshop his latest crime-thriller screenplay, INTERFERENCE, at the Sundance Institute Directing Lab. Rodriguez is set to direct INTERFERENCE as his second feature in Spain in 2025.
